Frequently Asked Questions
Quickly find the answers to your questions
Ordering & payment
How do I place an order?
Choose your creation in the shop, then its finish, Gold or Silver, when the design comes in both. Add it to your basket and pay online.
Your order is confirmed by email. I then prepare it by hand, just for you.
Which means of payment do you accept?
Bank card (Visa, Mastercard, CB). Depending on your device, Apple Pay or Google Pay may also be offered at checkout.
You can also use a gift card of the house.
Is payment secure?
Yes. Payment is made on the secure Stripe platform: your card details are encrypted and do not pass through our servers.
Are shipping costs shown before payment?
Yes. The delivery cost is shown in your basket, before payment. Prices for each destination are detailed on the page Delivery & exchanges.
How to choose the right size of crown or hair comb?
Crowns are generally adjustable. For a comb or a slide, send me a photo of your planned hairstyle: I will guide you towards the most suitable size.
Making & lead times
Is your jewellery really handmade?
Yes, all of them. I am Catherine Fages, master artisan, and I handcraft every piece myself, in La Destrousse, Provence.
I choose every bead and every component, then carefully assemble the piece to order. Nothing is mass-produced: that is what makes your jewellery unique.
What are the making and delivery times?
Each piece is made to order: allow 7 to 14 days to make, then 2 to 4 days for delivery by Colissimo in mainland France.
For delivery outside mainland France, lead times are shown on the page Delivery & exchanges.
When should I order for my wedding?
My advice: remember to order at least 4 to 6 weeks before the big day. That way you will have time to receive your jewellery, try it with your outfit and, if needed, request an exchange without stress.
For a bespoke creation, allow more time.
My wedding is coming up: is there still time?
Write to me before ordering with your wedding date: I will confirm the timeline so that your jewellery arrives in time. Contact me.
Delivery & international
How is my jewellery shipped?
By tracked Colissimo. In mainland France, you choose delivery with or without signature; allow 2 to 4 days after dispatch.
Do you deliver internationally?
Yes, with Colissimo International: European Union, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Europe outside the EU, North Africa, United States, Canada, Asia and Australia, as well as the French overseas territories with Colissimo Overseas.
Prices and lead times for each destination are detailed on the page Delivery & exchanges.
How is my jewellery packaged?
Each creation is packed in an elegant gift box, perfect for gifting or keeping your jewellery, then protected in secure, padded packaging for transport.
Exchanges & returns
Can I exchange my jewellery?
Yes, an exchange may be considered within 14 days of receipt, if the jewellery is in its original condition, unworn, in its original packaging intact, and is neither a bespoke or personalised creation nor a sale item.
Write to me at contact@lebaiserdelamariee.com with your order number and the reason for the exchange: I will confirm the exchange and send you the return instructions. Return shipping costs are your responsibility; as soon as I receive the jewellery, I will send you the new item.
Can I get a refund?
Because my creations are handmade, I do not offer refunds, but an exchange, under the conditions above. The full conditions are set out in the terms and conditions of sale.
My jewellery arrived damaged: what should I do?
Record your reservations with the carrier and let me know within 48 hours, with photos. I will do everything I can to repair or replace your jewellery.
Do you offer repairs?
Yes, I look after my creations even after the sale: a loose bead, a broken wire, a damaged clasp… Minor repairs are often free for jewellery bought from me; for a major repair, the quote is free. Allow 1 to 2 weeks on average.
Bespoke
How does a bespoke creation work?
It all starts with a conversation (email, phone or appointment): share your inspiration with me, along with a photo of your dress and hairstyle. I then send you a proposal with a sketch and a quote.
Once approved, I make your piece and send you photos before dispatch. Tell us about my project.
What is the lead time for a bespoke creation?
Allow 7 to 14 days to make from approval of the quote, then 2 to 4 days for delivery by Colissimo in mainland France.
Before that, allow time for our discussions and the proposal (sketch and quote). So contact me as early as possible, well before the 4 to 6 weeks I recommend for a piece from the shop. For a very complex project, the exact lead time is confirmed before approval.
Can I personalise an existing creation?
Yes, most of my creations can be adapted: bead colour, adding or removing an element, length… Contact me to discuss it.
How do I pay for a bespoke creation?
A 50% deposit is required to confirm the order, with the balance due before dispatch. As a bespoke creation is unique and made for you, it can no longer be cancelled once making has begun, and it can be neither exchanged nor refunded.
Care & materials
Which materials do you use?
My jewellery is plated with 24-carat fine gold or silver. I combine it with freshwater pearls and mother-of-pearl, crystals, cold porcelain shaped by hand petal by petal, and preserved flowers. My veils are made of very fine silk or synthetic tulle.
Gold or Silver: how to choose?
When a design comes in both finishes, you choose Gold or Silver directly on its product page. If you are unsure, send me a photo of your dress: I will be happy to advise you.
How do I care for my jewellery?
Remove them before washing your hands, showering or swimming, and apply perfume and hairspray before your jewellery. Store them in their box, away from moisture and direct light.
All the advice is gathered in the care guide.
How do I care for flowers and porcelain?
Handle them gently, always by the metal structure and never by the petals. Preserved flowers do not tolerate humidity: do not store them in a bathroom. To dust cold porcelain, use a soft brush, never water.
How do I remove creases from my veil?
Never iron it directly with a hot iron. Hang it in the bathroom while you take a hot shower, or use a garment steamer at a safe distance.
Appointments & workshop
Can I come and meet you?
Yes, I welcome you by appointment in La Destrousse (13112), where I create my jewellery, between Marseille and Aix-en-Provence. It is a chance to discover the creations, try them on and talk about your project.
What happens at an appointment?
I welcome visitors Monday to Friday, from 2pm, by appointment only. Allow 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes; you can bring photos of your dress. Parking is available on site and access is suitable for people with reduced mobility.
Request an appointment or call me on 06 07 47 41 72.
Do you work with wedding planners?
Yes, I regularly work with wedding planners and wedding suppliers. Feel free to contact me about a partnership or a project for your brides.
