Caring for Your Treasures

Care guide

Each piece Le Baiser de la Mariée is a unique creation, handcrafted by Catherine Fages in her workshop in La Destrousse, in Provence. Whether freshwater pearls, crystals or cold porcelain, your treasures deserve particular care to keep their sparkle.

"A well-cared-for piece of jewellery is a memory that never fades."

Gold & Silver Jewellery

Our jewellery is plated with 24k fine gold or silver. Although we use high-quality plating, oxidation is a natural process. Here is how to slow it down considerably.

Avoid water and perfume

Remove your jewellery before washing your hands, showering or swimming. Apply your perfume and hairspray BEFORE putting on your jewellery.

Beware of light

Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can dull the sparkle of pearls and crystals. Store them away from light.

Preserved Flowers & Porcelain

Preserved flowers (hydrangea, gypsophila...) are real flowers whose sap has been replaced with a natural preservative. Cold porcelain flowers are shaped by hand, petal by petal.

  • Fragility : Handle these creations extremely gently, always by the metal structure and never by the petals.
  • Humidity : Preserved flowers do not tolerate extreme humidity. Do not store them in a bathroom.
  • Cleaning : To dust cold porcelain, use a clean, soft make-up brush. Never use water.

Veils & Delicate Fabrics

Our veils are made from very fine silk or synthetic tulle.

Perfect crease removal

Never iron your veil directly with a hot iron! Hang it in your bathroom while you take a hot shower (the steam will relax the creases) or use an upright garment steamer at a reasonable distance.

Long-Term Storage

After the big day, keep your accessories in their original box Le Baiser de la Mariée. Our boxes are designed to protect from light and dust. Add a small silica sachet to absorb moisture if you live in a humid area.
